1b. I do not think I will qualify for either program (Upskilling or Apprentice), should I apply anyway?
Yes! We encourage you to apply and let us help you determine if you qualify for this specific program. If not, we may know of other opportunities that better match your background.
2. Can I receive college credits for completing this program?
Yes! Successful candidates will receive twelve college credits through Kentucky State University. We will provide full details once you are accepted into the program.
3. What is the application process?

The assessment takes about 20-25 minutes. It is not a test— do not worry! The assessment is not a pass/fail test. It helps us identify your strengths and areas for improvement, so we can better support you throughout the training.
6. Is there an interview as part of the process?
Yes, after completing the application and assessment, we will contact you requesting to set up an interview with our admissions team to further discuss your goals and fit for the program.
7. Do I need prior experience in IT or software development to apply?
No prior experience is necessary. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and skill levels. If you have an interest in IT and a willingness to learn, this program could be a great fit!
8. Are there any costs associated with the application process or the training?
No, a U.S. Department of Labor Grant support this program.
9. When will I know if I have been accepted into the program?
After completing the application, assessment, and interview, you should receive a decision within ten business days. We will keep you informed throughout the process.

Applicants must:
Be a resident of Franklin County, Kentucky.
Have a high school diplomaor equivalent.
Be 18 years or older.
Hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.

11. Can I apply if I am currently employed?
Yes! This program supports up-skilling employed individuals if you meet the eligibility criteria. Make sure you let us know that you are currently employed, and we will follow up with you.
12. What happens after I complete the program?
Upon completion, participants will be eligible for apprenticeships or job placements with one of our premier partners. The program equips you with the skills to pursue a career in software development or cybersecurity.
13. Will I receive any training materials or resources before the program begins?
Yes, once accepted, we will provide access to necessary training materials, schedules, and resources to prepare you for the program.
14. Can I reapply if I am not accepted the first time?
Absolutely! We encourage you to reapply in the future. We will also help direct you to other training or educational opportunities.
15. Is this program remote or in-person?
The program is fully remote, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your home.
